When your child begins ABA services, the BCBA should take time to learn about you and your child. They should ask what is important to you both and what you want to work on. They should also complete different evaluations to understand what skills your child might need help with. If your child has behaviors that keep them from learning or negatively impact their life, the BCBA should complete behavior assessments to understand the purpose of the behaviors and make a plan to improve them.
